The Kuda Black Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda) is an upright, slow-swimming seahorse that spends much of the day hitched by its prehensile tail to rockwork, macroalgae, or dedicated perches. This dark color form often presents a deep brown-to-black look that can shift subtly with its surroundings, helping it blend into its chosen holdfast. In nature, H. kuda is found across the Indo-Pacific in sheltered habitats like seagrass beds and mangrove areas.
